Fourth of July Festivities

We spent the afternoon of July 4th on the shores Connecticut River in Haddam.  Despite the blazing heat, there was a gorgeous breeze blowing off of the River that cooled everything down quite nicely.  The girls had all sorts of fun, playing in the kiddie pool, playing badminton and just having fun with kids their own age, while we got to hang out with Melissa and Mari and enjoy the peace of the River.
Way too many kids in this little kiddie pool, but no one seemed to mind!
Holding a giant Polyphemus Moth - our little nature lover was so thrilled!
Lee climbed into the Connecticut River to retrieve the moth for Elizabeth before it drowned.
Getting ready to bring it into the woods so that it could dry its wings.
Emily and Elizabeth take in the boats on the River.
A very loud air boat shuttled people to and from the sandbar until the tide came in.
Just chillin.
