Emily's First Collegiate Goal

Emily scored her first collegiate goal on September 16th and it was a stunner. More importantly, it ended up being the game winner in a 3-2 win over conference rival Skidmore, earning Clarkson a very important three points in conference play. For those of us that have been watching her play for years, this was a patented Emily shot from the location where most of her goals start. Although Lee and I were not there to see it live, all three of us (Elizabeth was watching the live stream at work) were freaking out and hitting the replay button over and over again. We are so happy for our girl.

Summer Soccer 2026

Emily had another great summer with Sporting's WPSL2 team. She was able to get in a few trainings with the team before we left for France and then jumped right back in when we returned. Despite working a full time job, she was able to make all of the trainings and games. As she returned to fitness form, she earned more and more playing time, as well as confidence. She played CDM, ACM and F over the course of several games, serving up several assists and scoring two goals from distance while playing CDM. We are grateful for the time that she had training with such great players and for the coaching she received from Tiff and Matt. The Sporting WPSL training environment is like no other. 

The great thing about playing with adults is that when you get injured, there is likely to be someone studying to be a PT or a doctor who is willing to practice on you.

Lake Placid

The first week of May, Lee and I spent a couple of nights in Lake Placid. We stayed at a gorgeous hotel, built in the 1920s with wood paneling and stained glass windows that is part of the Craftsman style. We hiked Mount Jo on Monday and Saint Regis Mountain on Tuesday and spent our down time exploring some Olympic sites and relaxing in the living room of the hotel.  I have never been much of lake person, but Lake Placid just might have changed my mind.
