Birthday at the Beach

One of the great things about having a birthday so close to vacation is that much of our family gets to give Elizabeth birthday presents in person, rather than having to ship them to her.  Over the course of our vacation week, she received presents from both sets of grandparents and some of her aunts and uncles.
Opening presents from Auntie Kathy and Uncle Peter on the beach while the Emilys look on.
Snow White and Prince Charming dolls!
A soccer ball from Grammy and Grampy.
Books (to go with a Tinkerbell Teapot) from Grammy and Grandpa.

The best beach present, however, was the easiest to come by.  While we were out to dinner on Friday night with Aunt Denise, Lee snuck over to the waitress and told her that Elizabeth's birthday was in a few days and could they sing "Happy Birthday" to her when they brought dessert.  Her reaction is below.
At first, she was just interested to see who they were singing too...

When she figured out that it was her that they were singing to, she got a little nervous and Lee and I thought that we might have made a big mistake...
But then she started liking the idea....
And was happy!
Blowing out the candle on her Hoodsie Cup.
Pure delight!
