Emily's LaxPlus team played in the Summer Sizzle in mid July. Over all of the seasons that Elizabeth played at LaxPlus, her team rarely won games - they always played well, the games were always competitive, but they didn't win very often. At the Sizzle, ironically, Emily's team won their first three games and ended up playing for the championship. They ended up as bracket winners, and second place in their division, which was made up of more than twenty teams. She had a great couple of games, and cemented herself as the strongest defender on the 8 meter shot, blocking 5 shots in three games. After watching her do it so often in high school, it was thrilling to see it at this level, and to hear her teammates cheer on her success.
