Band & Chorus Concert

The girls' last band and chorus concert was a few weeks ago.  They did a wonderful job performing.  Elizabeth surprised us by performing a solo - her band teacher spoke about her scholarship to NWC and then Elizabeth performed one of her scholarship pieces.  She didn't think that it sounded good, so I'm not allowed to post it here.  The chorus sang some beautiful pieces, finishing with Home, by Phillip Phillips.  There wasn't an 8th grade parent in the place that wasn't crying.  I'm going to miss watching Elizabeth and her incredibly talented classmates perform in these concerts, but thankfully, we still have two more years with Emily.

These two have been taking this post-concert photo together for five years.

Glastonbury LAXFEST

Last weekend, the Middletown Senior Girls lacrosse team played in the Glastonbury LAXFEST.  It was supposed to be an all-day tournament, but the weather was so awful that they cancelled after three hours.  The girls' team went 3-0, which was a great showing for them, and our girls played well.
I didn't get a lot of photos because it was pouring most of the time.

Emily was chilled to the bone when the tournament was over.  Elizabeth, on the other hand, was in her glory!

Barbados Odds and Ends

Photos that didn't make a post:
Princess Lucky Love made a guest appearance at the wedding.

Elizabeth had to keep her mouth closed because Princess Lucky Love loves to grab shiny things.  Like braces.

Much to my dismay, Emily insisted on having her hair braided.  She even coughed up her own money to do it.

When a black stretch limo picks you up from JFK at 10pm on a Saturday might, it might just be the hi-light of the trip!

Nick & Agnes' Wedding

The main event of our Barbados trip with Nick and Agnes' wedding. They were married on the beach in a lovely ceremony that they wrote themselves and that was officiated by Nick's childhood best friend (and now one of Lee's closest friends).
The bride and groom asked all of the wedding guest to wear white.  It was an usual request, but looked amazing.

Bathsheba

Our final tourist-y stop was Bathsheba, a fishing village where may local and international surfing competitions are held.  There are huge rock boulders in the water offshore, so it's a great place to take photos.  And meet a monkey.
