Christmas Day

Christmas Day was filled with the chaos of opening presents and the highs and lows that come with too little sleep and the feeling of being overwhelmed by all of your gifts.  The girls had a great morning and a great day!!
They always want to do the stockings first....
This girl loves to sew!
A new book in one of her favorite series!

So excited that Santa brought her an Ever After High doll!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we travelled to New Hampshire to celebrate with Lee's family.  After visiting the cemetery, we made the trek out to Grammy and Grampy's house to exchange gifts with them.  It was a quick visit, before we headed to church, but we reconnected with them after mass at Aunt Margie's house.
Very excited.
Thrilled about a horse necklace.
Ever the artist.
Craft girl.

Loves her new CD!!

Manicures

The girls love nail polish, but I rarely let them paint their nails.  I absolutely detest finger nail polish on little girls - I just hate it.  During the school year, it's not much of a battle - the school dress code doesn't allow for painted nails.  It's much more of an issue in the summer, but we usually resolve our differences by having painted toe nails, rather than painted finger nails.  On Monday, as a huge treat, I took them to get their nails done.  They were thrilled to pieces and I have to say, the ladies did a nice job with them - even including a Christmas theme.

The lady painted on a snowflake on the ring finger of each of Elizabeth's hands.
Emily had a Santa Claus painted on her ring fingers.
Happy girls!

Nick: Week Three

During Nick's last week with us, he came up with some of his most inventive and creative ideas!
On Monday, he brought us our favorite - peanut butter M&Ms - but got stuck in the jar!
On Tuesday, it looks like he ran into a little trouble with Elizabeth's Monster High dolls.
On Wednesday, he turned himself into Harry Potter - the girls flipped out!
On Thursday, he replaced our Christmas stockings with our socks, hanging out in one himself for the day.

On Friday, he tried his hand at bench pressing, but had a bit of hard time.

On Saturday, he made himself at home in Elizabeth's gingerbread house.
On Sunday, he went sledding.  This photo was taken right after he returned from the North Pole.  By the time the girls woke up, the marshmallows were gone - eaten, we suspect, by Baxter.
On Monday, it looks like he took a liking to the girls' Christmas Seek & Find book!

JP II Pageant

The girls participated in their school pageant and Christmas concert on Wednesday evening.  The fourth grade did the pageant portion of the program, and all grades sang.  Elizabeth was a shepherd and I have to say, she was quite adorable in her outfit.  Both girls did a great job singing and we were very impressed by the show!
