December Odds and Ends

Better late than never:
Heading out to see A Christmas Carol at the Hartford Stage.

The first weekend in December, Lee, Elizabeth and I visited a high school in western Connecticut  and my friend Kate took Emily for us.  She and Abby had a great game (good enough for a photo bomb from their coach!).

Emily and I went to a Harry Potter night at Barnes & Noble.  It was very disappointing, but she did snag this free poster.
The girl loves her bling!
Holiday Cirque at the Bushnell.  Elizabeth's flute teacher plays flute in the Hartford Symphony, she was so excited to see her.

She's become a bit of a make up girl in her spare time.
New winter coat.
Christmas is exhausting.

Varsity

Elizabeth is playing varsity basketball this year and we are so impressed with how much she has improved.  Last year was her first year playing, and she struggled (although she tried hard).  She has improved about 200% since last year and although she's still not a starter, the fact that the team is so small has really benefitted her because she gets a lot of playing time.  The varsity games are on weeknights, so between practices and games, it's pretty exhausting.  The team's last regular season game is this week and then they have two end of the season tournaments.

Run for Refugees

Emily and her CFC soccer team are participating in a 5K on Super Bowl Sunday.  The proceeds from the 5K, as well as the amounts raised by the participants, go to support refugees in the New Haven community.  One of her teammate's parents works closely with this group and it is a worthy cause.  If you would like to support Emily and her team, click here:
