2014 was another amazing year for our little family. We had plenty of adventure, plenty of sports and plenty of fun. Each and every day served as a reminder of how lucky we are and how precious the time with our family and friends is. We are truly blessed.

Maine Day
Last weekend, the girls and I took a quick trip up to Maine to spend the day with my friend Janet and her family. The weather looked a little iffy, but it turned out to be a great beach day and although the sky looked threatening almost the entire day, only a few raindrops fell while we were there. It was a great day for the kids and I always love catching up with Janet and her family. The only downside was the trip home - usually, I stop at my parents and the girls shower and we eat, then I head back to Connecticut. This year I wanted to get home early because Emily started soccer camp the next morning so we drove directly home - and it was quite the ride, taking more than four hours. It took over an hour to get from Wells, Maine to the Maine/NH border, which is less than 20 miles. It was nice to finally get home, but I may have to rethink my driving strategy for next year.
Road trip selfie. This is what we do when Dad isn't around - take selfies.
Elizabeth and Ethan
Janet and me.
The water was filled with seaweed, which you can see in the these photos (above and below).
The sky was spectacular all day, but other than a few rain drops, the weather held up for us.
A sleepover, followed by a late night, followed by an extremely long day and Elizabeth couldn't stay awake on the drive home. Emily loved photo-bombing this one....
I have to say, there is no one I would rather sit in traffic with than these two - no complaining, no whining, just good company (unless they are sleeping - then it's just silence).

In the 207
We made our annual trek to Wells, Maine to hang out with Janet and her family. It was such a great time and the kids were in the water pretty much all day. This annual tradition is such a great way to end the summer. The photos pretty much say it all!

Down Time
We had one day with absolutely nothing planned and because the weather did not cooperate, we ended doing a variety of things that didn't involve being on the beach. The rest of the week, had the opportunity to experience this and that, whenever we didn't have guests.
Hanging out at the Seacoast Science Center.
The touch tank.
These are some of the remnants of the Lizzie Carr, a ship that wrecked off of Concord Point on Wallis Sands in 1905. The Lizzie Carr was a 138 foot, 268 ton schooner built in Maine in 1868; some of its planks were discovered by a young boy in 1998.
Odiorne Point
Ski ball at Playland Arcade in Hampton Beach.
The best.
We met a lot of dogs this year. This good girl was hanging out in the Life is Good store in Portsmouth and Emily wanted to bring her home.
Trying their luck with the treasure chest at Warren's.
