The New Haven Ruby team hosted a tournament last weekend, which was pretty fun for us to watch. They lost all three games, but Elizabeth played really well, scoring three tries, tackling like crazy and encouraging and helping out all of her new teammates.
The New Haven Rugby team played in the small school division of the club rugby championship, a qualifying event for larger club rugby competition over the weekend. They went 2-2 which was enough for them to get a plaque, although not good enough to qualify for regional competition. Elizabeth had a great "try" in the last game, which helped her team secure victory and finish with the plaque.
The New Haven club rugby team played a tournament at Westfield State last weekend. It was pouring rain, but that didn't damper the spirits of Elizabeth or her teammates. Although they dropped the first three games, they won the fourth and fifth, finishing third overall in the tournament. Elizabeth scored two trys, one of them a punishing run of 70 yards. She also played great defense. We are so happy that she's having so much fun playing ruby.
Elizabeth is playing club rugby this fall and it is crazy to watch. I've been to a couple of her game - she's a crazy good at tackling and had a great "try" (which appears to be a touchdown) during her second game.
