Last Week at NWC

Signing Day and Academic Awards Night rounded out Emily's final week at NWC.

Division III athletes don't sign a letter of intent, but NWC honored them anyway (note: Kennedy is pictured here, but is running Division I track in college).

NWC Prom 2024

Emily's prom was May 17th - after a several days of rain, they lucked out to get warm and sunny weather. She went with one of her good friends and had an absolute blast. And, she looked amazing. We agonized over this dress, as the other contender was bright orange and looked amazing - but I think she made the right choice. Emily looked beautiful and elegant in her stunning black dress.

Her date plays baseball and did the most adorable prom-posal.

The Last Day - Goodbye Northwest Catholic

Emily's last day of school was bittersweet. She is definitely ready to move on to the next chapter in her life, but she is really going to miss her friends and all of the wonderful times she's had at Northwest Catholic over the last four years. As for Lee and me, it won't be the same, not making the trip to the school multiple times a week to watch sporting events, attend concerts and other events. The days are long, but the years are short.

All of the girls decorate their skirts with the college logos and everyone gets their shirts signed.

April and May Soccer

Emily suffered a slight set back with her ankle and so was only able to play two games in April. The team played four games over ten days in early May, winning three and tying the last. They ended the regular season at 8-2-1, which is simply amazing. Nine girls on her Sporting team are playing college soccer next year, a record for any team at Sporting. We are so proud of all of these girls and blessed to have had them as such wonderful teammates, some for as many as ten years.

A weeknight win over longtime rival Ginga was the only time the entire team was ever at the field at the same time. Short term and long term injuries prevented them from all playing together this spring.

Emily's final two games were played in Maine and Rhode Island, so we had a long weekend of driving and one final overnight.

The final game was Emily's worst of the season, it was tough to go out that way.
