Blizzard Bust

On Tuesday, a major storm was predicted to hit Connecticut and most of New England.  Although some forecasters predicted that we would get more than three feet of snow, we ended up only getting about 21 inches. That was good enough for a state-wide travel ban, a day off from work and two days off from school - but overall, the "blizzard" was a bust.
We went out to dinner on Monday night, thinking we'd be stuck at home for days if the storm was the real deal.  While we were eating, one of the local weather men put up this graphic and the entire restaurant went dead silent.  Thankfully, we got less than half of what he predicted.
When I took this shot on Monday night, it had been snowing off and on for about five hours.
You can see Lee cleaning off the cars - although it drifted a lot, the snow was just past his knees in most areas.
Emily and I went for a long walk late Tuesday afternoon.
After the storm.
Tuesday was brutally cold with the wind so the girls didn't play outside but they took advantage of the snow day and warm sun on Wednesday.

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

The first snow of the year arrived over the weekend.  Although only about 5 inches fell, the girls were eager to get outside and play in it.  It was perfect for snowballs and making a snowman.

Father Daughter Dance

Catholic Schools week kicked off last night with the Father-Daughter Dance.  Lee and the girls really had a great time, the girls especially, hanging out with all of their friends.  We had a little pre-party at one of our friend's house and I stayed and hung out with all of the moms while the dads and daughters went off to the dance. It was a fun night for all of us!
The service project for Catholic Schools week is a fundraiser for our pre-school teacher, whose husband suffered a brain tumor and a stroke. Two pre-school moms donated their time and talent to do hair and nails for the dance and the girls who went really had a blast!

My beauties!

All of the girls.

2014: Year in Review

2014 was another amazing year for our little family.  We had plenty of adventure, plenty of sports and plenty of fun.  Each and every day served as a reminder of how lucky we are and how precious the time with our family and friends is.  We are truly blessed.
