Varsity Call Up

Towards the end of the regular season, Elizabeth got called up to varsity.  She texted me in the middle of the school day one Friday to tell me that the time and location of her game had changed because she was playing with varsity that day.  Lee and I pretty much dropped everything and headed to the game.  She played a few minutes in the first half and then played almost the entire second half, taking two shots and scoring once.  I literally cried when she scored, I was so happy for her and so proud.  After that, she was a regular on the varsity bench - although the varsity coach doesn't sub (at all), so she only got playing time in one other game.  Fittingly, it was an away game AT Middletown, so she played against some of her former travel teammates and her former travel coach came to watch her play.  She had a goal and two assists in that game and was on the roster for the post-season.  Much to our surprise, during the lacrosse banquet, she was awarded a varsity letter and named to the Academic All Conference Team.  We are so proud of Elizabeth - she was so disappointed to be named to the JV team at the beginning of the season but she kept her mouth shut and worked her butt off.  We can't wait to see what next year brings.

Elizabeth and Lilly, both called up from JV, were the last two subs in the first half of Enfield game.

NWC May Lacrosse

Elizabeth's JV lacrosse season has come to an end, but it was a great ride.  Practicing every day with equally dedicated kids made a huge difference in her game and she is much better player.  She loves this sport so much so it is really great to see her grow as a player.

She's been working on this move for over a year and finally has the confidence and skill to do it successfully in a game.

An even better carry.

May Soccer

Emily has played a lot of soccer this month. In addition to her primary team, she's helped fill in on another team in the club that is short a few players, plus she has school soccer.  It's been a lot of driving, but she loves every second of it.  Her Sporting team got a huge 1-1 tie against the number 6 ranked team in New Jersey last weekend, which was a great confidence boost as we head into a tournament weekend.

She uses the JPII games to perfect moves and concepts that she works on in practice.

Co-ed soccer brings out her competitive side.

About to score a nice goal.

Half time speech.

Huge 1-1 tie confidence booster.
