Vacation Odds and Ends

 Some vacation odds and ends:

We had dinner outside at Grammy's house one night and Lee didn't miss a chance to spend some quality time with Nestor.

One of my favorite pictures of the girls and definitely my favorite of this year.

It was great to visit with my dad on our way back home.  He was so happy to see the girls.

New England Summer Sizzle

Toward the end of August, Elizabeth played in the New England Summer Sizzle, the last lacrosse tournament of the summer. She played very well over three games, so much so that her coach told her that she needed to order the game film to use for recruiting purposes. A few days after the tournament, she received her first ever email from a college coach, expressing interest in her as a player. Although she's not necessarily interested in the school, it was so exciting for her to receive the email. She will be continuing with club lacrosse this fall and is really looking forward to it and we can't wait to watch her play more.

Summer Soccer - NWC

This summer, Emily was given the opportunity play soccer with her future high school team and she immediately jumped at it. They had a few practices and then played four games in the West Hartford Summer League. She was also invited to play in a scrimmage between the varsity girls and boys teams, which was a huge confidence booster for her. She started all of the summer league games, either at outside back or center back and really had a great time playing with the girls. I know that the new coach (who can't coach in the summer but has made a tremendous impression on the players) brought a new culture to the team last year and the girls were spectacular - very positive and upbeat, even playing time, and just really great kids. We are all holding our breath that high school sports will happen this fall.
