Clarkson Womens Soccer

In less than three weeks, Emily leaves for preseason Clarkson University. Because Clarkson is D3, the fundraising grind never ends. The players have been tasked with raising funds for gear, video analytic software, new balls, as well as future overnight and out of region trips. Emily is looking for pledges of set dollar amounts or for goals achieved, such as shut outs, wins or goals scored. For point of reference, last season Clarkson won 11 games, scored 32 goals and earned 9 shutouts - and almost the entire starting lineup is returning this season. If you would like to sponsor the team, you can complete the form below and send to me by text. Emily needs to turn in the pledge sheets before her first game. Thank you so much and Let's Go Tech!!

Glaciers Galore

Having never seen a glacier before, I think that we were a bit unprepared for how many glaciers we would see while in Alaska, and how different they would all look. In total, we saw eightglaciers and they were all magnificent.

Mendenhall Glacier
Brady Glacier
Margerie Glacier
Lamplugh Glacier
South Sawyer Glacier
Sawyer Glacier
Aialik Glacier

Alaska Railroad

We returned to Anchorage via the Alaska Railroad, departing from inside Denali National Park. The train was surprisingly luxurious and despite the fact that the trip took almost 8 hours, it was a beautiful way to experience the scenery and landscape of interior Alaska. One of the most amazing things was seeing Denali from the train. For the entire day, the peaks of Denali were completely visible, which is highly unusual.

Hurricane Gulch
iPhone photo from the train - insane.

Gorgeous peaks of Denali

When the landscape got a bit monotonous, Emily passed the time reading.

Old telegraph wires and poles.
Hours from the national park and still able to see the Denali peaks.
Remnants of a forest fire.
Moose tracks on the beach.
