One of the great things about the Haddam Neck Fair is the ability to get up close and personal with farm animals. We were surprised by how open and hands on the various farms allowed us to be with their cows and sheep. When we were making our last turn through the cow barn, we got to meet Clarice, a beautiful milking cow from a local farm. The owner of the farm let the girls pet her, water her and walk her - it was so great! We probably spent 20-30 minutes with Clarice and it was so amazing to learn all about her - and about the different kinds of cows on her farm. This is exactly the kind of reason that local fairs are so special.
Meeting Clarice.
Emily walking Clarice outside to get some water.
Walking Clarice to water.
Making sure that she drinks from the right water bucket.
Elizabeth was in heaven - all afternoon, she kept telling us that she wants to live on a farm when she grows up.
Emily was very into Clarice, but very cautious....
Clarice gets a little too close for comfort and Emily flees.
