Birds of the Outback

Perhaps the neatest exhibit at the Mystic Aquarium was something called Birds of Paradise.  It was an outdoor, well-netted exhibit in which all different kinds of birds flew around freely and visitors had the opportunity to feed them.  Because most of the birds perched up high - to stay out of the reach of little ones, I suspect - I had no hope that the girls would have the chance to feed them.  I was pleasantly surprised, however, as each of us got to feed various birds.  It was the girls' favorite attraction of the day and even Emily, who I expected to run shrieking from the exhibit, loved it.
A mere fraction of the birds in the exhibit.
Feeding the bird with my left hand while snapping pictures with my right - I'm very talented!
The girls feeding a friendly bird.

Emily finally gets a turn.
This was so great - a bird landed on Elizabeth's feeding stick, so she got to hold him while Emily fed him!
Yep - she's happy.
