NWC celebrated an untraditional Homecoming Dance earlier this month. It was held outside, on the football field on a perfect October night. The girls had so much fun, dressing up with their friends, dancing for hours and then going out afterwards. It's *almost* like normal high school experiences are making a comeback.

Senior Day - Cross Country
Elizabeth celebrated her Senior Day for cross country. Although it's her least favorite sport, cross country holds a special place in her heart because it is the only sport she was able to compete in for all four year, due to COVID-19. She captained this team for two years and was a great leader. She will miss this team, but we got through the festivities without shedding any tears.

September Soccer
The Northwest girls are playing arguably the toughest soccer schedule in the state this year - not a single team is a clear win and they have been scrapping and fighting for every tie and victory so far. They are currently 2-3-2 and two of the three losses were complete heart breakers for them - one on a PK with less than ten minutes left in a 0-0 game and the other when the goalie gave up two soft goals in the first ten minutes of the game and the rest was an even match of skill and toughness. We are hopeful that they can scrape together some wins in October and make the tournament. It has been fun to watch them play and some of the girls on the team are just operating on a different level. Emily has been inconsistent so far, but seems to be starting to come into her own and playing well.

September Cross Country
The fall cross country season started off very well for Northwest Catholic. Surprisingly, Elizabeth has been running pretty well. She admittedly did not train for distance this summer, focusing on working out at the gym and playing lacrosse. Despite that, she has been running pretty well, including her fastest 5K in three years, which she ran last week. We are happy that she is relatively pain free and enjoying her final season of cross country.
