September Soccer

The Sporting girls had a pretty good month of September.  They've won several games, tied one and lost three.  In the last couple of weeks, they are really starting to click and it's starting to be really fun to watch them play.  Emily has had only one or two games where she's played to her potential, but overall, she is doing well.  We are looking forward to their successes in October.

This game was by far Emily's best in September.  With under three minutes to play, the other team was able to get a long clear and their striker went racing down the left side of the field on a break away.  Emily, played the angle from the opposite side of the field, and ran down the striker, stopping her in her tracks and stripping her of the ball, preserving the 0-0 tie.  It was quite exciting.

Each game seems to be more physical than the last.  It's getting the girls ready for high school but sometimes you feel like the refs are willing to let them kill each other out there.
