Elizabeth has had a crazy first month of cross country. In her first race, she was in a strong 4th position at the 1.5 mile mark but ended up running off of the course when she got to a fork on a wooded path that was not marked (she chose the wrong direction). As she was running the JV race that day, she actually re-entered the race on the varsity side and, despite already having half of a race under her belt and all the emotions that went with going off course, she still manage to run one of her fastest times ever. Since the opening day race, the weather has not been cooperative (for Elizabeth) and she's been pushing through some heat and humidity. She is getting stronger with every race, despite battling sometimes debilitating foot pain (doctor's appointment scheduled). With only a few weeks left in the season, she is determined to power through and drop her overall PR.
Notice the untied shoe, 200 yards into the race.
Finishing strong at the Winding Trails Invitational
