SCP Kick Off Classic

Last weekend kicked off the first of at least five soccer tournaments that Emily and her various teams will be playing in over the next several months (In addition to being a chauffeur, I've also become a part time travel agent!).  Her CFC 06 team played in the South Central Premier Kick Off Classic, a local tournament against various Connecticut teams.  They had a very disappointing showing, losing 3 and tying 1.  None of the girls could seem to put together a good game at the same time, so we saw glimpses of brilliance, but never from every girl in the same game - and having two 8 am starts didn't help.  I think it was a good way for the girls to get used to playing outside, on bigger fields and in less than ideal conditions.  In addition to the 4 tournament games, Emily also played her final indoor game for Magic and the first outdoor game of the season for the CFC 05 team.  Emily put together three good games out of the 6 - and surprisingly, her final game was her best.  The CFC 05 coach really knows how to bring out the best in her and even though she was gassed, she gave him 15 minutes in the second half of that sixth game that was probably the best soccer that I've ever seen her play.  The outdoor season has officially begun and Emily is back to playing 3 or 4 games every weekend.
The weather conditions were so terrible and the field was under water so the first two tournament games were actually played inside.

Meg and Emily are Magic teammates, although opponents in two of the four tournament games.

Abby and Emily refueled after game one with chocolate milk - recovery drink of champions!!
A look at the field conditions on Sunday morning - a water logged field.

45 minute nap in the car between games 5 and 6. Her Fitbit logged 45,000 steps between Saturday and Sunday.  The fact that her legs are not even remotely sore is a sign of her remarkable fitness.
The 05s only had two subs -  and here they are, sitting no where near the coach for some reason.
Milkshake game!
