We drove from Mount Vernon to Charlottesville late Saturday afternoon. What was supposed to be a two hour drive turned into a four and a half hour drive, thanks to 28 miles on I-95. The second half of the drive was stunning - back roads that wound through battlefields and historic landmarks. It was amazing! On Sunday morning, we started our day with Palm Sunday mass at the University of Virginia and then toured the campus. Even though we live in a college town, we were reminded of what a big time college looks like - acres and acres of gorgeous buildings, steeped in history. We could have stayed for hours.

As you exit the Rotunda, you can see Monticello in the distance.
