Elizabeth's Birthday

Elizabeth's 8th birthday fell on the absolute hottest day of the year - no joke, the temperature at our house broke triple digits for the first time in ten years, climbing over 103 by early afternoon.  Because we don't have air conditioning (hard to believe, I know), I did not make her cinnamon buns for breakfast that morning but despite that disappointment, she still had a great day.
Elizabeth had her heart set on a "treasure chest cake" and I am completely inept when it comes to that kind of stuff.  She loved it, declaring that nothing tastes better than Mommy's cakes, but it looked horrible (and yes, I followed the recipe!).
Delighted with her cake.
Blowing out the candles with one breath!
Totally pumped about receiving Chrissa, an American Girl movie.
So happy to receive more Emily Windsnap books, one of her favorite series!
American Girl clothes from Emily.
A science kit from Uncle Mike, Auntie Kelly, Felix and Theo.
An ice cream delivery (did I mention that it was the hottest day of the year?) from Uncle Mike and Auntie Sandra!!!

Grammy and Grampy got her an American Girl sewing kit and she sewed one of the projects on her birthday.
Auntie Kathy and Uncle Peter gave Elizabeth an Orbeez mood lamp, which she made on Tuesday and L-O-V-E-S!!
