Valentine's Day

Despite the fact that Lee and I are not particularly into Valentine's Day (as I said to him that morning, "nothing says I love you like an oil change"), the girls get beyond excited for it every year.  I think that making cards, exchanging them, and getting all sorts of goodies is just so much fun for them at this age.  My boss graciously allowed me to work from home so that I could volunteer in Emily's class for her party and it was so much fun to see how excited the kids all were about their treats and their valentines.  We also got the girls some little surprises, which really seemed to make their day!
We spent last Sunday afternoon hand-making our valentines.
I found this great M&M brownie recipe (M&Ms and brownies, my two favorite things!) and make a heart-shaped brownie for each of my Valentines.
Emily, in her Valentine's Day outfit, which included heart leggings and a Strawberry Shortcake "Be My Valentine" t-shirt!  She looked adorable!
I saw this cute idea on Pinterest to cover the door with hearts that had little sayings - to say that it was a huge hit with the girls would be an understatement.  They just couldn't stop smiling when they looked at them.
Valentine cupcakes for Emily's class - we made them together that morning before school.
Emily opening her valentines at school.
Checking out each of them, one by one.
We got each of the girls a Fijit - Elizabeth was totally pumped.
Emily had no clue what it was, but she's already a convert.
Emily also got a miniature Emily AGD, which was a huge hit.
