Obsession

At this point in her life, I would say that Elizabeth is obsessed with two things - reading and all things American Girl.  Because I cannot keep up with her reading addiction (I go to the library at least three times a week and I am literally running out of book ideas for her), I turned to some of our friends with older girls to see what kinds of books they liked when they were Elizabeth's age.  My friend Kate lent Elizabeth a stack of historical American Girl books and she has really taken to them.  I love the historical dolls (like Elizabeth Cole) because they each come with a story about a certain time in history.  She is just about done with the Samantha books (turn of the century) and is moving on to the Kit books (the Great Depression).  She seems really enthralled with the different ways of life of these girls.  In addition, I am reading A Little Princess to the girls at night - and the title and main character popped up in one of the American Girl books that Elizabeth read over the weekend.  She was beyond excited about the connection.
