Winter at the Playground

Last Saturday, with a winter storm brewing, we took the girls to a nearby park and playground to enjoy the (relatively) mild weather. They had a good time running around, playing, swinging, jumping - just generally burning off energy. Elizabeth was basically fearless, sliding and climbing all by herself. It was a great way to spend a few hours and to tire out the kids. More pictures here .
No fear. Seriously.
Emily on the swing.
The slide was a much better idea to Emily on the climb up - she took one look at the long ride to the bottom and headed back down the exact same way she went up.

Is this the park by Butternut Street? If so, I completely played there all the time when I was little. (The equipment is a little more modern, obviously, but I recognize those horsie things on the springs). In fact, my dad took me there once when my mom was away, and I went down the slide before I was ready, and cracked open my lip, requiring a trip to the ER and stitches (I still have the scar)...needless to say, mom was not pleased. But it brought back nice memories...

It's not that park, although we should probably go there, as it's a lot closer! It's actually Peckham Park (sp?) in Middlefield.

And really, what's a trip to the playground without a split lip?
