On the Beach

At least twice a day, and usually more than that, we walked the beach.  According to our numerous devices, we averaged more than 15,000 steps each day.  The early morning and late evening walks were the best, because there were always so many dogs!  We would also look for sea glass, search for crabs and other little creatures.  Sometimes, we even raced each other down the beach (serious business in this family!).

Racing.

This dog loved us and the girls really enjoyed throwing his ball for him.  The owner basically got a "free" walk out of the deal!

Misty mornings.

Even Daddy didn't know what this was.

The Gorges

Our vacation schedule was a bit unusual this year, leaving us with a free day early in the week.  We (I) decided that we should do something different, so we made the two hour drive to Franconia, New Hampshire.  After hiking the Flume Gorge in the morning, we enjoyed a hearty lunch (including our first ever taste of poutine!) and headed to the Lost River Gorge.  Although the Flume was great, it was crowded with visitors.  The Lost River was amazing, with all sorts of different caves to inspect along the way.  We had a good time and decided that although the drive was long, it was definitely worth the trip!

The pool - 120 feet deep.

Hampton Beach

The girls always love to spend time at the Hampton Beach arcades and shops, snacking on lemonade and fried dough from Blink's.  On an overcast morning, we met up with one of our friends, who was on vacation at the same time, and walked around the arcade and shops.
A favorite.

This kid loves shooting games - not sure why, as she gets the chance to play them about twice a year!
You don't need to be good at games when you have a friend that wins at poker and gives you all of his tickets!

Mr. Mitchell played a couple of weird games....
Customer loyalty.  This shop owner was very good to the girls last year, giving them a discount because they were spending their own money.  They rewarded her with a return visit (and big purchases!) this year.

Brown's 2015

We made our annual visit to Brown's Lobster Pound during vacation and it was so great that our family was able to join us again this year.  The girls had a great time with their cousins and, of course, eating seafood.  It was a such a great time!!
Grandpa telling the girls a story (I can only imagine....)
Steamers!

 Lobsters all around!

Clam Chowder for this girl.
This kid loves lobster!
