April Lacrosse

High school lacrosse season started in early April and it was an unusual month for the girls. A few days before they were supposed to play their first game, a player on the team tested positive for COVID19, so the entire team was put into quarantine. Although the girls received a negative PCR test on day five, they were unable to return to school or play as a team. Once the mandated 14 day period was up, they had one practice and then jumped right into a hectic game schedule. Elizabeth started her first high school varsity game and hasn't looked back, starting and playing 7 complete games so far, and playing really well. She's scored at least one goal in all but one game, and in most games she's scored more than one. Emily suffered a midfoot sprain in the first game, although she refused to leave the game and played the next night as well. After playing two full games, she confessed to her pain level and to her dismay and relief, we sidelined her. After a week of rest and some PT, Emily was cleared to play again and so both girls started and played the last two games of the month. NWC is not particularly good, but they are starting to click and the coach really knows the game, so we are hoping for some good games in May.

These two have played with and against each other since third grade.

Although she's never played defense before, she slid right into the position for high school.
