NWC Cross Country 2020

The cross country season ended on Wednesday afternoon.  It was definitely an unusual season, as there were no large invitations and the teams were only able to compete once a week, in dual meets.  Oddly enough, this is one of the strongest girls cross country teams that NWC has ever put together, and the girls won several of their dual meets.  They were not able to do very much training before races actually began (a little less than four weeks), but most of the girls came into the season in shape and ready to run.  On the day of the first meet, Elizabeth learned that the coach had selected her as one of the captains of the team, which is a role that she took very seriously over the course of the season.  We are so proud of her for all of her hard work and for once again being recognized by her coaches as a leader.

Three best friends before the first meet.

The girls team.

Daily prayer from our captain.

Elizabeth and Hannah ran together at almost every race, one going ahead of the other the entire time, until the end of the race - they often sprinted together side by side until the last few yards of a race.

The team only had one home meet this season, but Elizabeth PR'd on the home course, which was great.
