Week of Music

It has been a week of music in our house.  Last Friday night, we took the girls to their first concert - the 96.5 TIC All Star Christmas Concert, which featured Echosmith, Matt Nathanson, Ingrid Michaelson, Daughtry and Train.  It was a great show and they really enjoyed it.  In fact, we all really enjoyed it.

The Napper still has it - and these photos prove that she can pretty much sleep through anything.  She slept through Ingrid Michaelson, woke up for part of Daughtry, then went back to sleep; woke up for Train's first song and then slept again until we left.  I tried desperately to wake her up for Angel in Blue Jeans, her favorite song, but to no avail.

On Sunday afternoon, we drove up to the Groton School for its annual Lessons & Carols performance. It was simply spectacular.  I was completely blown away by the talent of these high school musicians.  The service itself, which lasted more than two hours, was so peaceful, a beautiful way to reflect on the miracle of the season.  Afterwards, we attended a reception at the Headmaster's home.  Elizabeth is more and more determined to attend Groton.

Elizabeth wanted to take pictures of everything.  She seems especially fascinated with the dining hall.

Last night, I performed with the Travelers Chorale at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford.  The theater was filled to the rafters and we received a lengthy standing ovation.  It was such a great performance.  And we are all thoroughly exhausted!
