We had another wonderful Christmas Eve with Lee's extended family. Aunt Margie and Uncle Tom hosted, as always, and everything was wonderful. Despite the ridiculous amount of delicious food, the girls snacked on chips, Fritos, cookies and cupcakes (after all, it's a holiday!) and spent most of the night playing with their cousins from Texas, whom they had never before met. I think that three year old Charlotte actually enjoyed being handled like a live doll!! They ran and played, opened gifts together and generally had a wonderful time. The girls were showered with gifts from their great aunts and uncles, so many so that Lee had to make five - count 'em, five - trips to the truck to load everything up for the ride home. This is one of the best nights at Margie and Tom's that I can remember - the girls seem to be the perfect age for everything now, we can stay a bit later because they don't crash as early (although the dogs probably aren't thrilled that we stay away longer), and we have such a great time with everyone. It is such a wonderful way to lead up to Christmas morning!!! The photos definitely tell the story.
