Last weekend, we took the girls to visit Fenway Park to experience their very first Red Sox game. Growing up in Connecticut, they were quick to learn that one is either a Red Sox fan or a Yankees fan; and while they don't really watch baseball, they know that the Sox are their team! I'm not going to lie, a major league baseball game is a long day for little kids, especially in the kind of heat we had on Sunday - it was brutal. We lasted until the bottom of the 8th (after singing Sweet Caroline, which they looked forward to the entire game), which was pretty amazing. The Red Sox won 6-4 and it was a wonderful experience for our family.
We lucked into some really great seats in a Loge Box.
Standing in front of the four Teammates statute outside of Fenway, which immortalizes the decades-long friendship of Red Sox greats Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, Dom DiMaggio and Johnny Pesky.
The Ted Williams Jimmy Fund statue, a testament to the more than fifty years of public appeals that Ted Williams made on behalf of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
We arrived at the park early to take a tour. The tour itself was a bit of a rip-off disappointment, but we did get this spectacular family photo with Wally.
