New York: Ruby Foo's

We decided to try someplace new for lunch this year and, after scouring the internet and rejecting almost every restaurant around, I landed on Ruby Foo's, a pan-asian restaurant in the heart of Times Square.  Although a couple of native New Yorkers warned me away, we paid no attention and went anyway - and it was a great move.  The girls absolutely loved it, as the wait staff really caters to children, and the food was excellent.

The girls loved the chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
The decor was lovely.
Denise and I ordered a dumpling sampler for an appetizer - the girls were starving, so they decided to try them, with chop sticks!  They loved them and did a pretty good job with the chop sticks.

When we were leaving, Emily noticed a tree filled with these butterflies and told the hostess that they were beautiful.  She made sure no one was looking and then, to Emily's delight, "would you like one?" When Emily nodded, she made her promise not to tell anyone, or she (the hostess) might get in trouble.
Tying the butterfly around Emily's wrist, as Elizabeth looks on.

She was thrilled!!
The hostess then fastened a butterfly in Elizabeth's hair.
This photo pretty much captures Elizabeth's expression the entire day
