Keeper

Elizabeth spent 1/2 of a recent soccer game playing goalie for her team.  I was pretty nervous because her team is not very good young, so they end playing a lot of defense (and losing - but who is keeping score?).  The game that she played goalie, however, the two teams were pretty evenly matched and Elizabeth's team actually scored a couple of goals, so Elizabeth had a bit of a cushion.  She allowed one goal but made a few saves as well.  We were very proud of her work in goal (especially because it's so hard for kids her age to wrap their heads around the fact that they absolutely, positively cannot touch the ball - except when they are playing goalie!) and glad that she was willing to volunteer to play in net.
Waiting for a corner kick.
Ready to make the stop (and she did).
Heading back to the net.
