We are a little late with this post, Elizabeth has been five for two weeks now! We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday in our traditional family way - a family outing, swimming at Peter and Lisa's, and birthday cake and presents. While we were still on vacation, we spent a few hours at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover (earlier this spring, we bought a family membership to a local kid's museum and we have really taken advantage of the reciprocity benefits). Although Lee and I found this particular museum to be less than entertaining, the girls loved it - so much so that they cried when we left to go out to eat (this from the children that are always hungry!). A few days after we returned from vacation, we spent the afternoon swimming at Peter and Lisa's (we've done this on Elizabeth's birthday for the last four years, so she's come to expect it) and then had cake and presents with them (and the beloved Taylor). Elizabeth was truly thrilled by each and every present she received - her expressions were genuine and priceless.
The birthday cake, made to Elizabeth's exact specifications.
Blowing out the candles.
Sheer delight with each and every present.
It's good to be five....
