The Demolition

Because this bathroom is the only full bath in our house, a do-it-yourself fix was completely out of the question.  I was at a meeting at work in December where I met a woman that lives a few towns over; we got to talking, she mentioned that her husband was a contractor, a few people near us chimed in about how he had done work on their houses and how happy they were, and I knew we had our man.  In early February, Sean came out and met with us - I explained what I wanted done and he told me that it was all do-able.  By early March, we had an estimate that we could live with and started shopping for tile and fixtures.  Sean and the plumber were able to align their schedules and the demolition started on May 13th.
