I realized that I never put up any "after" photos of our remodeled bathroom, at least after the shower doors were installed and the closet was completed. So here are the sequel photos:

The (Almost) Finished Product
Still waiting on shower doors, finishing off the closet (which Lee is doing) and various accessories, but here is a glimpse of what the bathroom looks like:

The Construction
We couldn't have been more pleased with the work that Sean did on the bathroom. After the demo, there were many tedious things that needed to be done, including the installation of a fan (we never had one), the building of a wall, and a ton of tiling. It was crazy, but Sean and Harry worked steadily enough so that by the end of two weeks, the vast majority of the work was done.

The Demolition
Because this bathroom is the only full bath in our house, a do-it-yourself fix was completely out of the question. I was at a meeting at work in December where I met a woman that lives a few towns over; we got to talking, she mentioned that her husband was a contractor, a few people near us chimed in about how he had done work on their houses and how happy they were, and I knew we had our man. In early February, Sean came out and met with us - I explained what I wanted done and he told me that it was all do-able. By early March, we had an estimate that we could live with and started shopping for tile and fixtures. Sean and the plumber were able to align their schedules and the demolition started on May 13th.

The Prequel
When we bought our house 11 years ago, it was in great condition cosmetically. While it needed a new roof, new windows and a new furnace, there wasn't a lot on the inside that we could complain about. Except our one and only full bathroom. Which I swear, I never saw during the three times we looked at the house; or the inspection; or the final walkthrough. Or else, I would have run screaming. This is what our full bath looked like the first few years we were in the house (circa 1949).
In 2005, we just couldn't handle the pink anymore, and so we did a small renovation - it was all that we could handle at the time and, for the most part, it took care of the worst parts. This redo was enough to hold us over until the last year or so, we when started dreaming about doing the bathroom over; and having nightmares about the shower handles snapping off in our hands one morning.
Original medicine cabinet - with a slot for razors (right above the mouthwash) and everything.

The tub was glazed white.
New medicine cabinet and sink.
New toilet and shelf.
Nothing we could really do about the privacy wall.
