Emily continues to spend her free time in the kitchen, making all sorts of different goodies:

Over the last several months, Emily has become very interested in cooking small things.  She's a mug cake pro and she's moved on to different specialty coffees, pancakes and waffles and various oatmeal concoctions.  She got an immersion blender for Christmas, which she loves to use, and we recently got an air fryer and she is enjoying experimenting with that as well.

The Baker

Elizabeth continues to hone her baking skills and creativity.  Over the last week or so, she made a wedding dress cupcake creation for a bridal shower and Harry Potter Sorting Hat cupcakes for Emily's school birthday celebration.

April Baking

Elizabeth made some cupcakes for one of her friend's birthdays and experimented on the leftovers.  Then she made cupcakes for the school bake sale fundraiser (I could get used to that!!).  They were a hit, selling out at the first lunch wave!

Magical Lamps

Elizabeth recently put her artistic baking abilities to work, creating Magic Lamp cupcakes for the concession stand at the school play.  She created the genie lamps from fondant, which we then spray painted with edible gold spray paint.  She then made the cupcakes and frosted each one perfectly.  I have to say, we were pretty impressed with the final product - and they sold out completely (at $1.50 each!).  We can't wait to see her next creation.

Easter Baking

Elizabeth has become a bit obsessed with baking, fondant and cake decorating.  She scours Pinterest looking for new ideas all of the time so when Easter was on the horizon, she started planning what dessert to make.  I had to talk her down from some more complicated ideas as she is still a beginning, but she decided to make some cupcakes with nests on them.  They actually came out pretty good and she got a lot of compliments from the family.  She is already plotting her next creation...

She made the cupcakes herself.  I made the frosting but she decorated each and every cupcake without any help from me.

She made these special ones for Matt and Melissa, who just announced that they are expecting a baby boy.  The best compliment she got all day was when they expressed disbelief that she made them, thinking that we had purchased them at a bakery.
