Last Saturday night was my 20th high school reunion and Lee and I, with the help from some good old peer pressure, decided to attend. While most spouses probably would not want to attend a high school reunion for a school that they didn't attend, Lee grew up with many of my former classmates and so he was game. We both had a great time - it was crazy how so many people looked exactly the same, and how there were so many people that we wouldn't have recognized but for their name tag! One of the hi-lights of the evening was opening the time capsule that we "buried" twenty years ago. It was amazing to read letters that we wrote to our friends twenty years ago - and even more amazing to see that we stayed close! I am truly blessed to have some wonderful, life-long friendships!
At the pre-party.
Taking a break from all his socializing to be with his wife for thirty seconds....
My sister thought we were both plastered when I sent this to her - alas, no. Apparently, 30-somethings can't pull off the "duck face" quite as well as teenagers (at least not these two 30-somethings).
Janet - now and twenty years ago (nice shoulder pads!!)
We opened Sheila's time capsule items, as she wasn't with us (what were we thinking?!?!?!). Jen sent her pictures of everything we found inside and eventually sent her the entire package, including our letters to her.
