June Soccer

The girls played a lot of soccer this spring.  It was bittersweet in many ways - Elizabeth will not play soccer in high school, so she played her last games. Emily is finished playing travel soccer and is moving on from her current club (CFC) - back to Sporting, ironically.  We saw some good soccer this spring and really enjoyed watching the girls have fun.

There are not a lot of drop balls in soccer, but Emily seems to be the only person on her team that takes them.  She had great success on this one.

This game was played in brutal conditions - high 90's, just about 100% humidity.  It was Magic's worst loss in four years; a loss to team they'd beat earlier in the season; and a loss that knocked them out of the Cup in their last ever run.  Despite all of it, Emily never gave up, playing hard until the last whistle.  We were so proud of her effort.
