Bowers Lacrosse Tournament

On Sunday, the girls played in the Bowers Tournament, an annual lacrosse tournament Somers, Connecticut.  This was the most successful Bowers in Middletown girls lax history.  The Juniors team went 4-0 and the Seniors team went 2-1-1.  The girls played great, although it was bittersweet watching Elizabeth in her fifth and final Bowers.

Emily was able to play all four Junior games and two Senior games as well (we left for a few hours so she could play a little soccer).

In a really meaningful moment, Elizabeth's coach told us that she was his favorite player to coach, other than his own daughter.  He said she listens to everything he says, tries to implement his suggestions, works hard in practice, encourages her teammates and plays any position he asks.  He said she's scored far fewer goals this year than last, but that she is a much better player than she was a year ago.  We are so proud of her for all the work she's put into this sport that she loves so much.
