Wednesday night was the 8th grade banquet for the 8th graders at JPII. This is a special evening during which the 8th graders receive pins for all of their activities, as well as academic and character awards. Because Elizabeth participates in so many activities, we knew that she would get a lot of pins but we just didn't know how the rest of the evening would play out. She won a few academic awards, including the St. Thomas Aquinas Scholastic award for having the second highest grade point average over three middle school years. We are very proud of all of her accomplishments. She's a big fish in a little pond, but we are all hopeful that this is only the beginning of good things for her.
