Off to the Salon

Several of the attendants and all of the flower girls went to the salon on Saturday morning to get their hair done.  This was a particularly exciting time for Elizabeth and Emily - honestly, I was taken by surprise by how much Elizabeth was into having her hair done (that seems to be Emily's territory!).  They had so much fun with the other flower girls and just loved getting all prettied up!

We knew that we didn't want Elizabeth to have an up-do, but we weren't quite certain how her hair would end up looking.  She was very nervous.

The Morning Of....

The morning of the wedding, the anticipation really started to build in our little cabin.  The girls were bursting with excitement and it really felt as though they were counting down every second until the moment the wedding started.

Before breakfast, the girls opened the flower girl gifts that Alison & Ian had left for them in our cabin.

While were not involved, we can't forget that some of the aunts filled the cannolis while the attendants were off getting prettied up at the salon.

Rehearsal, Dinner & More

Last weekend, we traveled up to Jackson, New Hampshire for the wedding festivities of Alison and Ian.  Friday was the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and post party.  There were actually many gatherings in Jackson on Friday evening - Lee, the girls and I hit up one and then, after putting the girls to bed, Lee headed to another to hang out with his uncles and cousins.  Friday was the start of what was a great weekend of fun with our family!

Snow Day

We've had several snow days this year, but the girls have not been able to play outside at all because it was either brutally cold or the snow was very, very wet.  Last week, however, they finally got the chance to play outside and they loved it!

January Odds and Ends

Catholic Schools Week

The last week of January is Catholic Schools Week, at our school and at Catholic schools across the country.  Our school had a wonderful week - grandparents' luncheon, service projects, community leaders luncheon, pasta dinner and Winter Blues Dance.  The entire school was filled with energy - I am so proud of our school and so proud of our girls for all they did this week!

All week long, beautiful works of art were on display for anyone that stopped by the school or participated in an event.
