Petroglyphs and El Morro

When we moved Elizabeth to New Mexico, we were there for Memorial Day weekend and we wanted to make sure that we took time to take in some of the national monuments in the area. On Saturday, we spent time at Petroglyphs National Monument and El Morro National Monument. In hindsight, we should have gone to El Morro in the morning because we enjoyed it so much and would have loved to have spent more time there.

Road Trippin'

In mid May, a few days after graduating from the University of New Haven, Elizabeth packed up her new car and headed off to New Mexico with Lee.  They drove to Columbus, Ohio the first night; St. Louis, Missouri the second night; and Amarillo, Texas the third night; finally arriving in Albuquerque on the morning of their fourth day of driving. Emily and I tracked them as they drove and then hopped a flight to Albuquerque on Friday morning to meet them. We spent the weekend moving Elizabeth into her temporary home and becoming more familiar with the area. Lee and Elizabeth really enjoyed their drive - both the chance to bond and the chance to see the country.

Spring Odds and Ends

After 18 years of service, Lee retired from the Y in early March. As his spouse, it was a thrill to see how much he meant to so many members. So many people attended his work party on his last day and then, the following week, a whole other crowd of friends took him out to show how much of an impact he has had on them over all these years.

Beau loves to run errands with us.
With limited soccer practices this spring, Emily is working out like a maniac on her own.

Incredible sky as Emily headed to Cheel for early morning lift in late March.

Favorite barista.
